Police have named a 21-year-old man whose death is being treated as murder.
In the early hours of Sunday, October 17, Keyron Curtis was allegedly assaulted outside the Colliers Arms in Penywaun, Aberdare, just after 1am.
Mr Curtis, from Cwmdare, was taken to Cardiff’s University Hospital of Wales where he died.
A 24-year-old man from Penywaun has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody.
Paying tribute to Mr Curtis in a statement his family said: “Keyron was a friendly, easy-going family boy with a heart of gold. He was loved by us all and always put other people before himself. He was to become a father in a few weeks and would have been a great dad. He will be sorely missed by all of his family and friends.”
A police statement said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who may have taken footage or photographs of the incident on a mobile phone or may have dashcam footage around that time.”
South Wales Police detective chief inspector Mark O’Shea said: “Our inquiries into this incident are ongoing but we would like to hear from anyone who witnessed an altercation outside the Colliers Arms on Sunday morning around 1.10am.
“We are also keen to hear from anyone who may have taken footage or photographs of the incident on a mobile phone or may have dashcam footage around that time.”
